Easter in Caldwell

We spent some of Easter weekend in Caldwell, a tradition several years running, now. The kids enjoyed fishing (although the water's so low the fishing wasn't productive!), riding the gator and 4-wheeler, watching the cows, eating yummy burgers, and just generally running free in the country! Scott, Alli, and Baby Yo (as Mae calls Leo) were all there, too. We ended the day with confetti eggs--fun!

Jack's Easter Party

I had Callie, Jack, and Macie's Easter parties all on the same day...whew! I made it to all, but barely! Easter came so late this year I kept thinking it had already happened! Jack's party was first...he has had such a good year in preschool...I was a little worried with him just going 2 days a week that he might not benefit from it like he should, but he's been great. His teacher was wonderful, too. He does really well with the rules, structure, and such---why doesn't that transfer to home???! Anyways. He had a fun time and got lots of goodies today!

Callie's Easter Party

Callie's Easter Party was lots of fun! They had an Easter Egg Hunt, followed by fun games, food, and go home early! Callie has so much fun with things like this--she is such a fun-loving child. Her best little friend at school is Angela, and it's fun to see her develop friendship relationships. She's growing up before our eyes!

Mae's Easter Party

Macie had a little Easter Egg Hunt and party at Mother's Day Out...this age is so cute as they are learning that the eggs actually have goodies in them, and they want to eat/play with each egg as they find it, instead of racing to find as many as possible. I am so thankful that I am able to join the kiddos in their fun school activities at this stage of their lives...love it!

Science Night

Callie's school recently had Science Night, where students were able to display their recent science project, plus do lots of fun experiments. Callie's class did a graph on the subject of time and temperature. She LOVES things like this, so she had a great time looking at other kids' projects, making gak-stuff, and participating in all the other fun activities.

Matching

Ok, I admit it...I love to dress the kids up in coordinating outfits. And take pictures. They don't hate it, yet, so I"ll take advantage of that while I can!

Picnic Time

Just a cute picture of the kiddos having outside lunch

...hurry up, Summer!

Zoo Visit

The Houston Zoo is great! I personally like anything to do with animals, and Callie, especially, inherited that gene. We bought a family membership this year, so I guess we'll be going quite a bit. It's pretty interesting to go by myself and the kiddos--and Mae is the one that makes it all so very interesting! She'll stay in the stroller for about 10 minutes MAX, then, she wants out, and, she's off! She is so not a "stay by your Mommy" kind of gal, so it's a continuous chasing game. I will admit freely...I bought a leash. The kid-harness kind of leash. For Mae. I know, I know, some of you are raising eyebrows right now. But, I was TRULY afraid that it was lose a child, or use a leash--and I do really want to keep Macie--she's awesome! SHe just runs away. Everywhere. All the time. So, I got the leash out and put it on, and...SHE ABSOLUTELY HATED IT! Wouldn't walk, yelling, "take it off! Take it off!" So, after a few minutes of that, I took it off, asking her first if she would stay by Mommy and hold my hand, knowing full well she wouldn't. But, after I took off the awful thing, SHE DID! She did great almost the rest of the day, and if she started to wander, just mentioning 'THE LEASH' was magic! Why didn't I do this before??? All those store trips, ball games, church days of CONSTANTLY CHASING her?? Wow. We'll see how it goes!
