The Big Test
Well, this post has no pictures. I suppose I could have taken a picture of Bryan studying, but looking at it would have been even more boring than seeing him in real life for the past several weeks! He takes the Bar Exam this Tues, Wed, and Thurs--and BOY ARE WE READY!!! He has worked really hard, and I know he'll do absolutely fine on it, but he's not as confident in his abilities as I am. So, everyone please remember him in a little prayer on those days as he takes the final test of the past 3 years--what a relief Friday will bring!!
Mandy and Lauren Come to Visit
I recently enjoyed a visit from a really special friend of mine that many of you know, Mandy (Taylor) Braddy, and her daughter Lauren. We have been close friends since birth, but don't get to see each other near enough in our crazy lives! Lauren just turned 8, and she is such a little copy of her Mommy! We loved watching the 2 girls together, because it just looked like little Mandy and Lisa running around--what memories! We enjoyed a visit to Palm Beach and the Space Center.Princess Dinner

One of the chuches in League City recently had a "Princess Dinner" for little girls--it was really cute! All the girls were dressed in their best princess attire, and they had a dainty little meal, crafts, fingernail painting, stories, pictures, and more! Princess Callie attended, along with her friends Kaitlyn, Haley, and Emma from church.
Toothless Again!

Callie lost a second tooth this week! Somehow Jack was involved this time--apparently had some sort of collision in the neighbor's swimming pool. Amazingly, we still came up with the tooth for the fortunate Tooth Fairy! The gap in her teeth ( on the bottom) looks especially black--that is because she has it filled with oreo cookie!

Backyard Playground

Well, ingenious Papa put up a zip line in the back yard last weekend--what fun! Aside from the tall rickety ladder giving me a heart attack everytime the kids climbed up, the whole deal was really fun! He had them coming in for a landing on a wet tarp like a slip-n-slide, or the kiddie pool for a "splash down"--they had a blast. Poor Macie just had a ringside seat...Toothless

The Ice Cream is Melting
The ice cream truck came singing down the road today, and we rushed out to get our ice cream treats--so fun! Well, in the 110 heat index weather, the good stuff quickly melted! Jack's was blue, and you can see where all it went as it melted. At some point, it fell off his stick, where you can see it in the grass and his poor little dejected face--but not for long! He found a way to finish it off anyway! Callie did a much better "clean" job!Fun on the Fourth

We had a good 4th this year--went up to the church for the annual celebration. We have enjoyed this event since moving here--lots of fun stuff for the kiddos, pie eating contest, fireworks--it's a great time! My mom is here helping me and visiting with the kids, so she tagged along as well. Zeke and Kae were in Kerrville, much to my kids' disappointment, but I know they had a fun time with everyone there. When Callie found out they were going to be gone, she was most upset. After convincing her that we could still have fun, she at last seemed ok and then said "at least Ty will be there" --the son of the Shoups, some of our good friends from church, who were also out of town! As you can see, she managed to have some fun anyway! Somehow Bryan got talked into the pie eating contest, much to the kids delight! Jack got stamp tatoos--on both cheeks, both hands, both legs, both feet! He is still afraid of fireworks, by the way! For those of you who haven't yet, check out Jenny's blog on more of Jack's antics--the story is funny and Jenny does a better than job than I do telling it!

Jack's New Attire

Ok, first let me preface by explaining that on the red fringe skirt, I have a very influental 6 year old daughter who desperately wants a friend to dress-up with her! Jack has been into boots lately, and frequently has those and not much else on, as you can see...My husband and father-in-law will likely not be happy with me for posting the red fringe skirt, but it is so funny!
Macie's Baby Blessing

Our church does something for new babies called "baby blessing". Basically the family comes to the front of the church, and the elders surround them and the new baby, and say a prayer for them--it's a neat thing, and Macie "received" her blessing last Sunday, and both sets of grandparents got to be there, too.Fun in the HOT Sun

The firm that Bryan will go to work for has a company/family event every summer (the one that had the softball tournament at Minute Maid Park last year), and this year was at some local softball fields. They had some fun things set up for kiddos, like the dunking booth, water slide, and face painting. The kids had fun, but it WAS SO HOT!! The heat here has been really bad recently--heat index of 108 degrees, with the Houston Humidity--yuck! Oh, well, the kids had fun!
