School Christmas Parties

Cal and Jack had their school Christmas parties on the same day...Macie attended as well! The organizers of Callie's really did a great job. There was ornament making, cookie decorating, and lots of yummy food and goodies for the kiddos. It's fun to watch her with her little friends--she is definitely growing up! After the party was over, the kids headed back up to the classroom and one of the girls' father plays guitar, and he played Christmas carols for us to sing along to. Both Jack and Macie love Callie's teacher, Mrs. Mitchen, and we do, too! She is really great, and we have been blessed to have her as Cal's teacher this year. Jack enjoyed his party, too. They had a puzzle exchange, chick-fil-A, and goodies in their stockings. Jack cracks me up--he definitely likes to be the life of the party, and it really does seem like the other kids look to him for entertainment! He adores his teacher, too.

Christmas Program

Both of the kids participated in the school Christmas program this year. Jack sang some songs with the preschool group, while Callie actually had a little solo part---that the video camera didn't record!!!!! Anyway, it was really cute, and both kids did a great job.

Ho-Ho-Ho

We took the kiddos to see Santa at the local mall. Obviously Cal and Jack like him, but I was curious to see Macie with him since she has really shown an interest in him this year..she LOVES him!! She calls him "Ho-Ho", and practically ran to him and smiled the whole time! No fear...a characteristic I'm seeing in her more plainly all the time. Santa also visited her Mother's Day Out, and again, she loved it and was the only one in her class who couldn't wait for her turn! Callie is asking for something big this year...a dog!!! We'll see if Santa approves that request...Jack has several wanted items, and some of them hold steady, while others change on an almost daily basis--monster trucks, remote controlled stuff, Lego things, Batman stuff...fun boy stuff! I love this time of year!

Lisa Turns..Old

Another year, another birthday! I am really starting to not like those! Nah, I still do...who could not like cake and presents?! I love them! And I am truly a blessed girl...wonderful husband, great children, loving family and lots of awesome friends...Thank you, God!

Bryan Turns...Older!

Bryan had his birthday...36...and I think it affected me more than him! I just keep thinking that it's the downhill slide to 40, and it seems like yesterday, literally, that he turned 30. We had some cookie cake, and gifts, and the kids drew him pictures. I'm not sure why I don't have Macie in a picture...but she was there! What a lucky gal I am!

Leo Hewitt Cassady

He's finally here! Little Leo Hewitt was born on December 11, weighing in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce...and he is precious! Alli was put into the hospital to be induced on Friday afternoon, and we packed in a hurry and got there late that night, but he wasn't born until later the next morning. My kiddos are pretty excited about him, and were anxious to have their turn at snuggling him, except for Macie, who seemed to care more for all the "untouchable" things around. She also requested a scrub cap, which someone gladly gave her...We are so happy for Scott and Alli and know they will be great parents! The only thing I question is what in the world they were thinking...ANOTHER member of the family born in December??!! That's like 2/3 of the family all having birthdays in December! I'm really starting to feel like just another number! :) Yea, I'm an aunt!!

Just a Cute Picture

Thought this picture turned out pretty cute...so I posted it! Loving the Holiday Season!

The Tree

We decided to try an age-old tradition of going out and cutting down our own Christmas tree this year, and it was actually quite enjoyable!! I grew up doing that, since we always just cut a tree out of the woods...anyway, the kids had alot of fun and we had a hayride to boot! It was a little difficult finding THE tree, as Callie in particular was very picky! We started decorating as soon as Bryan got it all set up at home. I was very proud
of us to have our tree up at the beginning of December, instead of the week before Christmas, as we usually do!
