Poor Jenny had an awful week of illness the first week of March...Strep throat followed by an upper respiratory yuck. We took the kiddos home with us after Sunday church to give her a chance to rest. Our kids were thrilled, of course. They never tire of each other, it seems! We had such a fun time with them. We basically played the whole day, most of it outside. My favorite pictures are of Kae Kae laughing. I seriously have not ever seen her laugh this hard! She literally had tears streaming down her face at one point. What was she laughing at? Well, just Bryan being silly--and I mean, silly, but for some reason, it had her totally cracking up. I love all these kids!Friday, March 26, 2010

The kids and I enjoyed a fun visit to my parents' house near Sulphur Springs in late February. That is the great thing about homeschooling! We just packed up and went in the middle of the week. We enjoyed seeing my Uncle Gary, who Jack really likes, and dear friends Jerry and June Lucky. My parents live "in the country"--seriously--like, on a farm. Looking back, it was a great experience growing up there, and whenever I am there now, time seems to slow down. Days are spent without any rush, or really going anywhere--because there really isn't anywhere to go!
It just feels good to take a breather, so to speak, and have fun with the kids, and feel like time, at least for a few days, isn't rushing out of my hands. The weather didn't cooperate too well, as another northern blew in while we were there. My parents didn't get snow this time, but starting just a few miles from their house, we drove through beautiful snow-covered countryside for 2 hours on the way back to H-town. I stopped the car and let the kids play in some along the way...too fun! Poor Macie really didn't get to participate.

Birthdays In Kerrville
We had a super fun weekend in Kerrville in February to celebrate Dan, Bill, and Kae Kae's birthdays...as you can see from the photos, the attention was heavily focused on Kae! The weather was gorgeous; in fact, we spent a large part of the morning just sitting (or napping!) outside enjoying God's nature! Later that day we enjoyed cake, especially Kaelyn! The kids all had so much playing together. It is really nice now with some of the kiddos being older and truly helping out with the little ones--gives us adults a break!
