Northeast Texas...Home Sweet Home

The kids and I enjoyed a fun visit to my parents' house near Sulphur Springs in late February. That is the great thing about homeschooling! We just packed up and went in the middle of the week. We enjoyed seeing my Uncle Gary, who Jack really likes, and dear friends Jerry and June Lucky. My parents live "in the country"--seriously--like, on a farm. Looking back, it was a great experience growing up there, and whenever I am there now, time seems to slow down. Days are spent without any rush, or really going anywhere--because there really isn't anywhere to go! It just feels good to take a breather, so to speak, and have fun with the kids, and feel like time, at least for a few days, isn't rushing out of my hands. The weather didn't cooperate too well, as another northern blew in while we were there. My parents didn't get snow this time, but starting just a few miles from their house, we drove through beautiful snow-covered countryside for 2 hours on the way back to H-town. I stopped the car and let the kids play in some along the way...too fun! Poor Macie really didn't get to participate.
