NON-working Momma!

Well, I am officially jobless! Well, except for taking care of 3 little hoodlums and a hubby! I quit my job the end of August. We have debated about it for a long time, and finally decided it was time--this job has been a great experience, but has really worn me out; especially on top of having children, husband in school, etc...Bryan doesn't start work until January, so we are going to enjoy some real quality family time. We really believe this opportunity is too good to pass up--what a rare treasure to have the next few months all to ourselves! Yes, we'll be poor--but that's ok! We plan to do some traveling to see family, friends, etc..anywhere we can stay for free! :)

New Trick

Here is one of Macie's newest tricks--sucking on her toe! She's been grabbing her feet for a while, but finally figured out they taste good, too!

Another Head-Bangin' Story!

Those of you who visit the blog and/or know us, will remember that several months ago Jack ran into a metal pole at the Wims' and cut his forehead, requiring stitches, which was quite traumatic, to say the least. Well, he did it again! In Kerrville, he was running, and fell--face forward, head onto a rock--a little lower and to the left of the first incident. This one was deep as well, though not as long. So, PA Mommy opted for some thorough cleaning out and steri-strips for closure! Poor thing--his forehead is one big scar zone!

Family Get Together

We recently had a fun family get together in Kerrville with the Wims', Bosse's, and Hanna's. Although it was a busy weekend for everyone, I think we all enjoyed being together. The kids had a blast, as usual. We did miss Ryan and Regan, as they were on a previously planned trip with their Dad--oh well, we'll just have to go back again!! Gena got out some train set stuff from her boys' and that was a great QUIET source of entertainment! Kendall helped Zeke and Jack dress up like Rock Stars, and they "performed" for us--that was great. Merla, our sweet family friend, gave Kaelyn and Macie matching outfits, and Jen and I FINALLY got them together for a photo, though I must say they have both worn the outfits a ton of times--it's so cute!

Cool Colorado

The second "half" of our vacation was spent in Colorado at Uncle Stephen Grove's cabin--which was totally awesome! We took 2 days to drive there--about 7-8 hours each day. We hadn't been on that long of a road trip with the kiddos yet, and we were not sure how they would handle it, especially Macie, so we planned on splitting it up in to 2 days. They did super, and loved staying in the hotel room on the way! James and Katy Garner and their adorable girls, Shelby and Zoe, came too, since they were already in New Mexico with family. Callie and Shelby became friends quickly, and had great fun together, letting Jack join in on some games. The game of the week seemed to be something they called "sickness"--which consisted of Jack being sick in some way, and the girls giving him medicine at the hospital--I had nothing to do with this game! The weather was incredible--down as low as 26 degrees at night, up to high 70's or 80 during the day--just wonderful. We went on a hike up the mountain to a waterfall one day--all the kids made it, even Macie! (Mommy was a little nervous in some places!) Stephen's nephew Montana came along with him, and he was great with the younger kids--looking after them, entertaining them--a huge help. So polite and such good manners--kudos to David and Sara, his parents. Thanks to Uncle Stephen and his family for letting us use the cabin--we had a great time!
