College Station

We left Austin and went to College Station, waiting to go back to Baytown after Ike. Our electricity was still off, and traffic was bad--so much devastation. We stayed with Bobby--I think we took a toil on him! Bryan had to go back and start cleaning up the debris, and his school actually started the Wednesday after Ike. While in College Station, we caught up with Bari, who is a freshman at A&M. She is the daughter of our good friends from New Braunfels--the kids love her!

Hurrication

Well, we ran from Hurricane Ike, and first went to Austin to stay with Alli. While there, we drove to Kerrville one day to be with family, as the Wims had gone there. The cousins have so much fun together! I was also able to catch up with my long-time friend, Tani.

Wims Golf Tournament

Some really great friends of ours and the Wims put together a golf tournament benefitting the Wims. It went sooo well, raising $44,000!!! 2 former Aggie-turned-pro football players made an appearance, which was really neat. Please continue to pray for the Wims and Brad's treatments.

Little Conductor

Jack still loves trains, and this is his "conductor outfit", which unfortunately, closely resembles a dress!!!

Horses, horses, horses

Jay and Jamie are some good friends through school with Bryan, and his parents have 3 horses. They invited us out to their house for a day of horseback riding, swimming, and food--it was so fun! Callie especially enjoyed it, as she is really in to horses right now. We even got Bryan on one!

Caldwell

We spent the day out at Bill and Jane's land in Caldwell. Allison and her boyfriend, Scott, joined us. The kids love running around, getting dirty, and riding the gator.

Day at the Zoo

Even though I have missed Callie being with us, Jack and I have had the chance to have some fun together. He is a great kiddo, crazy, wild, sweet, and mischevious. We went to the Houston Zoo, which he loves! They have a great kid-zone, and we usually end up there after seeing the animals (at least the ones he wants to see!)

Callie's Big Day

Well, the first day is over. It started out grand for Callie, too! She actually popped out of bed, which is not usual for her. Daddy got her pink donuts (strawberry-iced) as is the usual tradition on a special day.
As you can see from the pictures, she was very excited about school! Her teacher, Ms. Fischhaber, was waiting for her. Callie did this day like she does everything else--no looking back, jumping right in. I barely got my hug in before we left! And yes, Mommy did ok, too, though I really do think I will be sad for quite a while!
