Thanksgiving at Caldwell

Since the A&M vs. tu game was on Thanksgiving Day this year, we decided to go a day early and spend some time at Bill and Jane's land in Caldwell. It was a bit cool, but sunny and beautiful, and the kids absolutely love it there, especially Jack. While the quarters get a little cramped in the rv they have there, it is nice to get some fresh air and let the kids mix with nature! Jane had pre-prepared Thanksgiving fare, and we had the works--turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, pie...yummy! Unfortunately, our time there ended with us losing to tu...but we played hard! Gig 'em Aggies!Thanksgiving at Lannie's

After spending time in Caldwell we headed to my aunt Lannie's house in Abilene, where we joined all of her kids, my parents, and most of my other cousins-- what a big fun group! 8 kids 6 years old and under...whew! Lannie had a gingerbread house for the kids to make, which was really interesting watching all those little hands trying to help! Thank goodness for big cousins like Tiffany to help! We enjoyed lots of good food and close, cozy family time. On Saturday we went to the Abilene zoo--seems to be becoming a tradition for us--I like it! I love my family and cousins and don't get to see them often enough.
Jack is 4!

JACK IS 4! (as of November 23--I'm so behind!)So hard to believe. We had a Pirate Party this year, which seemed to flow with all of our pirate activities from Disney World the week before! We invited family and our church Life Group, keeping it smaller this year in light of all of our travels and not really having time to plan anything bigger. I think the kids had a great time! Thank you everyone, for helping us celebrate this special day! Here are just a few things I love about my boy:
1.) Still wants to rub my neck or arm every time we snuggle
2.) Says "Mazageen" (magazine) and replaces all beginning R's with W's
3.) Wants his shorts to be a VERY specific length, or they are just not wearable
4.) Takes every stitch of clothing off to potty
5.) Thinks of a new way of coming down the stairs each time
6.) Starts asking for breakfast before he is even out of bed
7.) LOVES to kiss his baby sister
8.) Hates loud noises and the dark
9.) Loves cheddar rice cakes and cheetos...and anything else made only of carbs!
10.) Loves to wear his boots with everything...shorts, athletic pants, slacks--whatever!
