Oklahoma, O-K!

Bryan's sister and brother-in-law, Allison and Scott, and our nephew Leo, recently moved to Edmond, Ok for Allison to teach at Oklahoma Christian University. Scott will be a videographer for a news station in Oklahoma City. I know they are very excited about the new jobs, and new experiences, yet a little anxious about moving so far away from family and everything they have been familiar with. We are sad that they are going to be so far, but I think it will be fun to visit them there and see new things! We decided to take a drive up there the first weekend in November to see their apartment, Alli's office, and look around Edmond. A bonus--Ashton, our cousin on Bryan and Alli's side, is in his Freshman year at OC, so we got to hang around with him too. They took us to the Oklahoma City zoo--pretty neat! The zoo has a caged-in area filled with Lorakeet birds, and we went inside and fed them out of our hands. They land on your hand, your head, your shoulder--almost anywhere! Callie LOVED it, even thought it was hilarious when one pooped in her hair--I didn't think it was so funny! Macie pretty much didn't them to get anywhere close to her. Then we went to the OC Homecoming Basketball game. We also ate at a restaurant called "Pops"--they are famous for how many different flavors of sodas they have--hundreds and hundreds!! A fun weekend. The down side---8-9 hour drive to get home :(.

Health Museum Field Trip

be

Recently Callie's class
took a field trip to the Houston Health Museum and learned lots of good things! She rode a bike with a skeleton, screamed her loudest in the Decibel booth, stuck her head in a huge plastic mouth, learned which foods make sludge in her body, and much more! I like to watch her with her friends--she is so sweet, friendly, and helpful, and seems to be well-liked because of those qualities. Her teacher's love her sweet, helpful spirit, and we are so proud of her!! Callie really had fun--she loves all that science stuff, like her Mommy. We love her school and teachers, and feel blessed that she is able to attend a place where God is the first priority.

Trick-Or-Treat!

Can't believe it's already that time again...candy, candy, CANDY!!! Love it so, hate it so....But I do love seeing the kiddos in their cute costumes, the trick-or-treating--fun times. This year we did the trunk-or-treat at the church building, then walked our neighborhood with Grammy and Papa following in the car. I have to say, I have never seen treats like in this area--people give out FULL SIZE candy bars, of all kinds---crazy! That really makes it hard to get rid of when I am going through it! I really wanted the kids to be a "theme", since I know I can't do that very much longer, but it seemed like it wasn't going to work until late in the game it all came together when Callie decided to be an Indian and Jack a cowboy. So, when I posed the question to Macie of what to be, she said a "cowboy princess"--meaning a cowgirl, of course! At the church we met up with our friends the Selby's--their youngest, Davis, is the cute little Dalmation. There is another couple at church who are avid motorcycle riders, and Jack and Mae got to sit on the motorcycle for a photo...I am afraid Jack enjoyed that a bit too much for my liking!

Fall Soccer

Soccer time again for Jack! Last year was his first season with the Y, and he's asked all year when it would be time to play again...he really enjoys it. Funny, he's the same team name again--Toronto Cheetahs--Coach took his suggestion for the name, just like Bryan let him name the team last year!
