Dress-Up Time, Again

Callie still loves to dress up, and Jack has recently been more in to it. He has acquired some boy dress-up things, thanks to Cousin Gena, and put on his Cowboy outfit last night. He insisted that you don't wear pants with it, because the "chaps are the pants"!! Oh well, whatever keeps him from putting on Callie's dance leotards, right?!

First Week Down

Well, it's hard to believe it's been over a week since Macie was born! She seems to change everyday! She is starting to be awake a little more during the day, and that is fun. She is super sweet, and actually is on track to be my easiest baby---I'm sure I'll eat those words later! She really only cries when she is hungry or has a tummy gas bubble, otherwise is very content to be snuggled. Now that I am a week out from the c-section, things are looking better, and I am really enjoying being home with Macie and the kids--yea for time off!!

Before Macie

These are some pics I took the day before Macie was born--the last pictures of "just Callie and Jack"! They were being unusually sweet to each other, so I took advantage!

Aunt Jenny's Photography Skills

We all know how Jenny loves pictures--even more than I do! She came all prepared with her camera--and had forgotten the memory card (she's done that before!); no worries--she had a spare in her purse...until the camera battery ran out!! Again--no problem--she moved right on to my camera, and got some awesome shots of Macie. She really should think about taking up photography!! The picture with Macie crying with the doll was really making us laugh--that was the first "prop" Jen grabbed, and every time she put it with Macie, she cried! She was coincidentally having some "tummy issues" at the moment, but it seemed like the doll was the issue! Note the adorable thong sandals Macie has on--courtesy of shoe-loving Aunt Jenny. Thank you, Jenny, for the sweet pictures of Macie!

Zeke and Kaelyn Meet Macie

Jenny, Zeke and Kaelyn came over yesterday to see Macie. They had both been very excited about her arrival--specifically K, who has been trying to get her out of my tummy for several months!! Zeke was very eager to love on her and hold her---until she started fussing! While he is smiling in the picture, he very quickly wanted someone to take and soothe her! Kaelyn showed some jealousy while Jenny was holding Macie--we were surprised to see her react that way, telling Jen "me hold you, me hold you!" I know Macie will love getting to know and play with her cousins, just like Callie and Jack already do!

Macie's First Doctor Visit

Macie had her first Doctor visit yesterday. She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces! Way to go! That is with diaper on (though dry), so I suspect more around 8 even. She is a little bit jaundiced, as you can see, and has a heart murmur that is non-concerning for now, but will be followed. Otherwise, he pronounced her "perfect"! We knew that already....!

Sweet, Sweet Big Brother

Well at least for now, Jack has impressed me with his infatuation and true love for his new baby sister! He is very sweet and gentle with her, and loves to kiss and love on her, or even just sit by her. He told me yesterday that he's "glad she's not a boy"!! Yea!! WHEW!! He is such a great kid, and it's a little sad to see how having a newborn around makes him seem so big all of a sudden--while he is definately a Mommy's boy, the feeling is mutual!

Coming Home and Easter Sunday

We came home yesterday finally! The news had predicted major weather all day, but it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, and the kids got to look for easter eggs outside the house. There are alot of photos on here, starting with us leaving the hospital, the ride home, and Easter stuff. Bryan and I took our own "family pic" since the nurse was busy right when we were wanting to take a picture. Macie was great on the ride home, despite it almost being lunch time for her! She must have found the car soothing--let's hope it stays that way! The kids were very excited about her coming home--I bet I took 100 pictures of them holding her! as you can tell, Macie was a little less excited at times!
